A well known doctor is indicted for his experiments toward curing the criminal mind. Needing to continue his work and hoping that success will clear him, he buys a boat, loads it with several high profile criminals hoping to escape the law and heads out to sea. At least that's the plan, but things start to go wrong and things are revealed to be not what they seemed at first.

A New Discovery
Thanks for sharing this with us all. I had never heard of this movie before, which surprised me. I am always looking for nautical themed movies and am an avid Jack London fan so I'm not sure how this one slipped by me.

This version is incomplete
The Alpha Video commercial release of this film runs about 63 minutes taken from a splicy 16mm print that was probably about 30 seconds longer.
There are about 14 minutes of plot missing from the version available here in which we learn that the Doctor has been indicted for a potential crime. He kidnaps a group of desperate criminals in order to prove that he is innocent. Imprisoning them on a ship at sea, he and his assistants will carry out an experiment before he goes to trial.

Watching this movie from the beginning actually feels as if one walked into the show in the middle. The random mayhem of taking one person after another to be a guinea pig for experimentation is ludicrous and the only realistic event was of a portion of the passengers planning mutiny; perhaps to throwing the script writer of this event off the ship. It's disturbing to think that this movie was actually based on a Jack London novel. Well worth watching if one likes pain and suffering.
